Kawakin's damping rubber bearing is a cushioning bearing structure made possible by a special damping rubber material made by Kawakin called HDR-S. With rubber bearing construction with steel plates, anti-cut locks and anchor system linking the upper and lower structures, this bearing provides high damping efficiency with a damping factor of up to 20%~ 25%, compared to conventional cushion bearing, only 15%. This type of bearing is suitable for both road and railway bridges.
Product features
Large load capacity
Although it is a rubber bearing, the load capacity of the HDR-S damping rubber bearing is enhanced to withstand vertical loads up to 25,000kN and even higher with special designs that can be up to 100,000kN.
High damping coefficient: Damping factor can be up to 25%
Kawakin’s HDR-S has outstanding damping performance compared to other conpetitive products, although their stiffness are all quite similar.
Environmental friendly
Damping rubber bearing in the world normally have the damping feature provided by the lead cores placed inside the rubber bearing, so when the life time expires, the handling of the lead core inside the rubber bearing is not good will have harmful effects on the environment. Kawakin's HDR-S damping rubber bearing has a rubber bearing structure similar to that of a regular rubber bearing, does not use lead materials, so it is environmentally friendly.
Contributing to reducing the cost of the whole project
With a damping coefficient up to 20%, it effectively absorbs energy from earthquakes, thereby reducing the size of the lower structure, contributing to reducing the cost of the entire building.
